There should be no change in the Australia Immigration intake: Big Firms and ACCTU

With the ongoing debate about the number of migration intakes in Australia, everyone has their own perspective and suggestion. Well, according to the big businesses in Australia and ACTU, the current migration intakes must remain same. They have in fact, demanded that the Federal Government of Australia must maintain the existing Australia PR migration intakes.

The joint statement will be released by ethnic lobby, employer groups, and peak unions warning the social and economic consequences of immigration reduction.
The ACTU has convoluted itself in the alliance even it embarks on an impressive campaign to harness access of employers to overseas workers. This joint policy will be one of its kind immigration document in the history of Australia. It calls for the maintaining the 190,000 immigration intake. The Australian quoted, ‘The levels of long-term immigration must be proportionate to the population.’
The contract will be signed with ACTU, United Voice, and Australian Industry Group. United Voice is the most influential unions in Australia whereas AIG is the top employer body, representing 60,000 businesses in Australia. They will jointly highlight the benefits of maintaining the existing Australia PR migration intakes.
The united stand by the unions and the employers’ body came together with respect to the heated debate for immigration in Australia. The debate is becoming toxic day by day and is also risking the monetary benefits underlying the skilled immigration.
The joint policy document is being headed by the migration council. This is for the first time that the employer groups and unions have come together and reached on an agreement on skilled immigration.
